- Pursuant to the Governor's Executive Order S-13-09, all BAR offices will be closed on Fridays, July 10th, 17th, and 24th.
- The Department of Motor Vehicles reminds customers that all statewide offices will be closed on three successive Fridays during the month of July – July 10, 17, and 24 – in keeping with Executive Order S-13-09.
- Subject: Resumption of CAP Repair Assistance Program Effective Monday, July 6, 2009, all Gold Shield stations may resume accepting vehicles for repair through the Consumer Assistance Program (CAP). It is critical that the station owner/manager closely monitor the Gold Shield contract to ensure the station does not exceed the contract amount this fiscal year (July 1, 2009-June 30, 2010). CAP has no authority to reimburse stations for repairs that exceed the contract amount. BAR has confirmed that Gold Shield Stations shall be issued a check for services performed and invoiced, and will not receive an IOU. Vehicle Retirement remains suspended until further notice.

Beginning in August 2009, all BAR offices will be closed the first, second, and third Friday of each month until July 1, 2010 or until further notice.
Normal business hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesdays) remain in effect.

“All they do is smog testing, and they were quick & efficient. Walk-ins only, no appointments. About $60; for an extra $10 they can process your registration renewal & you walk out the door with your tags & paperwork. (I couldn't do it because of a previous PNO that wasn't cleared out of the system.) Nice little waiting room, and a great french bulldog mascot that will love you to death!”
